Architectural acoustic panels for walls and ceilings — specification support

Spec Pack request checklist

Architectural acoustics moves faster when everyone is aligned early.

If you’re requesting a Spec Pack for architectural acoustic panels (walls, ceilings, or both), this checklist helps you send the right information the first time—so you receive the most relevant documentation with fewer follow-ups.

What a Spec Pack is (and what it’s for)

A Spec Pack is a request-only set of documentation-ready references designed to help you move from design intent to coordination and RFQ. It’s built for speed: fewer assumptions, fewer emails, clearer decisions.

Who this checklist is for

Architects, interior designers, builders and contractors specifying architectural acoustic panels for walls & ceilings in Australia.

Start with the system shortlist (in spec order)

If you already know the direction, choose one system (or shortlist 1–2):

Micro-Perforated → Perforated → Slat → Slot → Solid

If you’re unsure, tell us two things: wall or ceiling, and refined vs patterned.

Copy-paste Spec Pack Request Checklist

Use this format in the request form (or paste into a message if needed):

1) Project basics

  • Project type: Commercial / Hospitality / Education / Healthcare / Retail / Residential

  • Location (state/city):

  • Project stage: Concept / DD / Tender / Construction

  • Dates: need-by / install-by (approx. is fine)

2) Surface + intent

  • Walls / ceilings (or both):

  • Priority: feature zones / broad coverage / both

  • Visual language: refined (minimal) / patterned (expressive)

3) System shortlist

  • Preferred system (or shortlist 1–2): Micro-Perforated / Perforated / Slat / Slot / Solid

  • Any pattern preference (if relevant):

4) Area + quantities (estimate is fine)

  • Approx. area (m²) per zone:

  • Number of zones/rooms:

  • Any key constraints (services, access, maintenance)

5) Coordination notes (the time saver)

  • Ceiling services coordination needed (HVAC/lights/sprinklers): yes/no

  • Edge / trim expectations: standard / defined detail

  • Cleaning/durability expectations: standard / high

6) Compliance (only if relevant)

  • Fire pathway required? yes / no / unsureIf yes, request a Fire Pack in the same submission.

Common mistakes (and how to avoid them)

  • “We need acoustic panels” without wall/ceiling intent → decide surface first

  • No timeframe → add need-by/install-by (even approximate)

  • Too many options → shortlist 1–2 systems max

  • Missing constraints → one line on services/access saves days later
